BACKGROUND STORY
MEET DYNAMITE DAVE
Dynamite Dave is… well, literally a stick of dynamite with a temper. Intense, irritable, and permanently overheating, he has learned to manage his explosive nature by living high on a cold mountain where life is quiet and cool.
Until one day, disaster strikes: someone steals his cool - the cold climate he depends on to avoid detonation.
Determined and increasingly warm, Dave sets off on a journey to reclaim what was taken from him. What follows is a quirky, humorous, and fast-paced descent through increasingly hotter worlds, each bringing him closer to his nemesis deep underground.
Throughout the game, Dave interacts with the player showing his impatience and frustration
THE GAME
A PLATFORM DESCENT THROUGH HEAT, CHAOS, AND CHALLENGES
Dynamite Dave is designed as a vertical-descent platformer where players help Dave make his way down from his icy mountaintop home toward the earth’s blistering core.
To keep Dave alive, the player must:
- Rotate, tilt, and move platforms to guide him safely downward
- Keep him in constant motion; standing still increases heat and risks an explosion
- Manage rising danger as each stage becomes hotter
- Collect ice crystals to cool him down
- Avoid obstacles engineered by his enemy
- Use goodies and power-ups to gain temporary advantages
As the world scrolls upward constantly, tension builds. Players must think fast, make split-second decisions, and keep Dave moving before the heat catches up.

LEARNING PROCESS
BUILDING A GAME AND A BUSINESS CASE
After finalizing the world, the mechanics, and the core experience, I designed a unique business model for the game. Together with strategic partners, I prepared a full business presentation, a product pitch, prototypes and a one-pager for rapid communication.
Despite strong early reactions, I was unable to secure funding at the time. But the universe and gameplay remain fully developed and I still hope to bring Dynamite Dave to life in the future.
